Joy In The Journey

Together We Rise - revamped
Together We Rise - revamped

Right now I’m feeling pretty joyful.  My freshly finished painting is wrapped and ready to be dropped off tomorrow morning for the Spring Exhibition at the beautiful Jansen Art Center.  I’m freshly showered because I get to go on an island caper and dancing with friends tomorrow, too. The winter is over, and the glorious cycle of rebirth is happening again all around me.

Despite the craziness of current events, I’m fortunate to not be suffering personally, I choose to believe circumstances will improve, and I think now more than ever we have the ability to create the life we choose.

I think this painting is a powerful analogous image: “Together We Rise”.  Yes, it’s a beautiful moment in nature; a reminder that such magical moments are always happening, even if no one is seeing them.  The Great White Herons are mates, rising from the murky water into the glowing air, ecstatic in their union.  We too can rise above separation and strife, into a shared vision of a better world.  A world that works for everyone, in harmony with our beautiful natural environment.

I’m going to leave it at that, short and sweet.

I’ve got more to share about my process and plans, but I’ll post again soon.

I hope you’ll come to the opening reception at the J on Thursday, April 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm!  There’s always a great variety of wonderful art and artists, including me and mine.  A photo does not do this piece justice; you’ll want to see it in real life.  I love the real time interaction and feedback that art openings provide!  The energy of that feeds my soul.

much love,

Jayne
