Going For It
Dear Readers,
I’m choosing to be quite transparent and vulnerable here, and I’ve recently shared a couple of posts when I wasn’t in the best frame of mind. I think it’s important to share the upsides too, which are plentiful!
For much of my life I have been gathering reference material via photos or simply stuffing my memory bank, and painting in my mind’s eye.
It is very satisfying to be finally documenting my creative work on canvas. I have let go all of the excuses and barriers, real and imagined, to realizing my potential as an artist. I have the time, space, resources and energy to be prolific and successful in my chosen vocation. I am going bigger, and transitioning to completely natural, non-toxic materials.
As the image shows, I have several paintings in process, with many more ideas jostling for their turn.
The landscape I’ve introduced earlier will be ready for the Autumn exhibition at the Jansen Art Center in Lynden, accompanied by probably another piece or two. At least two paintings will also be submitted for consideration in the “Taking Flight “ show at the Confluence Gallery in Winthrop in October.
I have also applied for the opportunity to participate in Allied Arts shows in Bellingham in 2025. As my portfolio of work grows and sales become more frequent, I’ve no doubt that many more opportunities will open up for me.
Feeling strong and confident, seeing an open road before me, I’m excited to continue to share my contributions with the world!
Of course I’ll also make time for hiking and kayaking before winter sets in!
Blessings to you, dear ones~ I hope that you also are finding opportunities to get out and enjoy our beautiful world and express yourself in creative ways.
Much love~
Jayne
